Numerous attempts to Photograph and film Crossbills at the nest have all been in vain. Watching birds pair up within the flocks, observing courtship and eventually nest -build have brought its rewards in greater understanding, but not photographically. However we try! The juveniles that are attended by their parents have this streaky pattern of colouration.
